Brett McPherson

President, Owner of TLC

Brett McPherson is a licensed Landscape Architect #4691, Landscape Contractor, and the President of The Land Collaborative. Early in life, he developed an affinity for the outdoors, landscapes, hands on work, building and “learning by doing.” Brett grew up in Menlo Park, California and after high school, enrolled at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He attended their renowned Architecture School, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture in 1996.

Brett has been involved in the landscape industry for over 25 years. He founded The Land Collaborative in 2010 with the intention of providing exceptional landscape architectural design and construction. Brett is known for his hands-on approach. He ensures that the vision for his client’s home and landscape is achieved through collaboration with the client, TLC design team, builders and subcontractors. He has received multiple awards for design, customer service and historic preservation projects. Brett is a member of ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architects) and CLCA (California Landscape Contractors Association).

Brett lives in San Rafael with his family, where he continues to grow in his profession through ongoing education. During his downtime, he focuses on being a loving husband and father. As an outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys mountain biking the hills of Marin and Sonoma and being in the wonderful California landscape.

Danielle Dávila

Design Director

As Design Director, Danielle’s contributions to the team are enriched by her diverse and creative portfolio in the field. After graduating with high honors and receiving a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley in 2003, Danielle has cultivated her career at several award-winning firms in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is also a licensed Landscape Architect in the State of California #5773.

Having had the opportunity to assume lead roles on a variety of projects ranging from high-end residential and estate design, mixed use developments, parks, civic buildings and college campuses, she brings a well-rounded view of the profession to the company.

She genuinely enjoys the design process as one that is natural and organic yet balanced by the technical aspects of the field. Design work is her strength and her passion lies in translating the collective vision of the client and consultant team into a successful built product, fostering solid relationships throughout the process. Danielle’s artistic eye, innovative thinking and efficient problem-solving skills are highly valued aspects of the TLC design and construction process.

Danielle lives in Sonoma, California with her family. When she isn’t busy designing, she can be found running at sunrise on the local trails, orchestrating imaginative adventures with her two young daughters, or sipping wine with her husband while planning their next travel excursion.
